The datura (botanical Datura) belongs to the nightshade family. The ornamental plant is easy to pull out of seeds.
Their decorative trumpet-shaped flowers make Datura, also called angel trumpet or Brugmanisa, a popular ornamental plant. The genus of datura includes about 15 species such as Datura metel and Datura stramonium. Note: For child-proof gardens, the varieties of the datura are not suitable because they are highly toxic.
