Evergreen, tree-like palm lily up to approx. 5 m with wide, stiff, symmetrically arranged, up to approx. 1 m long, bluish-gray leaves with twisted threads on the leaf edges. The approx. 2 m high inflorescence consists of bell-shaped, greenish-white single flowers .This type of palm lily (Yucca carnerosana) is also called the Spanish bayonet. The leaves are broad, green, very firm with black, hard leaf tips. At the edges of the pure species, white fibers loosen in short curls, with crossings these fibers may be missing or only partially pronounced. The leaf cross-section resembles a crescent moon, as the inside is concave.

The black, flat seeds should be soaked in lukewarm water for about 24 hours before sowing. Then max. Sow 1cm deep in a mixture of sowing soil and a high proportion of sand, alternatively also in cactus soil. When placed in a bright and warm place (approx. 23-25 ° C) and kept slightly moist, the seeds usually germinate within a period of 6 weeks.
