The Judas tree (also known as “ Cercis siliquastrum”) is one of the most beautiful spring bloomers : in April pink, fragrant flowers form, which not only arise on the shoots, but also grow directly out of the trunk (stem bloom) and are edible. Brown pods later form from these flowers, which are also very decorative and edible. The Judas tree can be cultivated both as a shrub and as a container plant; with a little care, it will give its owner a lot of joy for years.
