Who has not ever planted an orange or lemon kernel in the ground and after a short while saw a small plant growing? Such self-grown plants are the gardener's pride and joy - especially when the tree flowers for the first time.

The orange tree grows up to 10 meters high in its Mediterranean homeland, making it one of the small to medium-sized trees. Due to its manageable size, the orange tree can also be ideally planted in a bucket at home - which is also highly recommended, because he likes no cold and especially no cold, German winter. In summer, on the other hand, the orange tree likes to stand outside because it gets the most sun there.

In order for the seeds to germinate faster, they are best placed in lukewarm water the day before.
The cores should be about 1.2 cm below the surface. Orange trees thrive in a variety of potting soil, but it is important that no water around the cores (and later roots) collect and can rot. Water should drain quickly from the pot when you pour the earth. Optionally, you can also buy citrus soil and mix with the potting soil.
