The heat-loving physalis takes quite a long time to grow, to bloom and to put on small, cherry-like fruits. In addition, due to the risk of frost, the seeds should not be released into the field before mid-May. Both reasons lead to the German summer being too short to harvest ripe physalis in time for the end of the growing season. For this reason it is advisable to prefer the plants on the windowsill as early as possible in February and to put the young plants into the public pool in May. Alternatively, a Kübelhaltung on a balcony or terrace is possible.

- Nehmen Sie kleine Pflanztöpfchen und füllen Sie diese mit handelsüblicher Blumenerde.
- Machen Sie mit Hilfe eines Fingers ein etwa 5 Millimeter tiefes Loch in die Mitte des Substrates hinein.
- Lassen Sie drei bis vier Samenkörner hineinfallen und bedecken Sie sie locker mit Erde.
- Besprühen Sie die Samen mit Wasser. Halten Sie sie gleichmäßig feucht – Physalis braucht recht viel Wasser.
- Alternativ können Sie auch einen Balkonkasten nehmen und eine ganze Reihe Samen in das Substrat hineinlegen.
- Stellen Sie den Topf / den Kasten an einen hellen und warmen Ort (z. B. Fensterbank im Wohnzimmer).
